Teachers offer deeply meaningful work yet constant sensory input, emotional demands, and a fast-paced, overstimulating day-to-day environments can lead to burnout. From managing classrooms to supporting diverse needs, teachers are often in a sustained state of giving, leaving little time to pause, reset, and regulate their own nervous systems. Over time, this can lead to stress, fatigue, and burnout.
This workshop responds to that need by offering accessible tools to better understand and regulate stress. Through this unique Handpan meditation workshop, participants will explore how sound, listening, and mindful attention can support nervous system regulation, restore focus, and cultivate a greater sense of calm and presence both in and beyond the classroom.

"Luisa has such a comforting and calming presence, while being engaging and informational. She is extremely knowledgeable about her areas of expertise, and creates such a safe, mindful, and easy space to learn, relax, and be creative in!"
Luisa encountered the Handpan for the first time in 2016, an experience that would shape the next decade of her musical path. She has since designed and facilitated over 300+ mindful music programs for school classrooms K-12. In her workshop she invites participants into the tranquil world of Handpan melodies, capturing the instrument’s imaginative emotional and expressive potential.
Luisa's dedication to making music accessible to all abilities has lead her to working in special needs programs, elderly care, community services, exploring music as a tool to cultivate deeper listening as a pathway to presence. She brings her embodied understanding into her teaching, creating a supportive and inspiring space where students can grow their musical understanding of this unique instrument and world percussion.
In Luisa's Handpan workshops she shares practical, easy-to-learn techniques that allow you to begin playing melodies and rhythms right away. She believes that everyone is musical, and that learning the Handpan is not only about playing an instrument, but about cultivating sensitivity, and attunement to ourselves and others...strengthening essential skills for everyday life.
