In our busy school days, it can be challenging to find space for rest and regulation. I’m here to support students and teachers with science-based brain breaks using play-based meditation techniques.
You can expect bite-sized lessons on how to bring mindfulness to you K-12 classroom. I teach how the brain and nervous system work, paired with exercises that help the body settle—children who know how to meditate are more likely to feel, focused and calm when faced with academic and social challenges.
Sound Mind Arts is a K–12 program that integrates meditation, movement, drama, visual art, and sensory games to support emotional balance, self-awareness, and community connection. Through playful, age-appropriate experiences, students learn to notice their inner world, regulate emotions, and express themselves creatively. The program fosters calm, focus, and belonging while offering practical tools that students can carry into daily life.

Luisa Henz is a mindfulness, arts-based educator with over eight years of experience working alongside schools to support student well-being. She founded SoundMind in 2020 and has since facilitated mindfulness, movement, and creative arts workshops for students from Kindergarten through Grade 12, as well as co-founding an outdoor forest pre-school rooted in play-based, nature-connected learning.
