Luisa Henz Bio

Luisa encountered the Handpan for the first time in 2016, an experience that would shape the next decade of her musical path. She traveled to Europe to learn from some of the world’s leading handpan players, immersing herself in the instrument’s expressive potential. For over ten years, Luisa has explored meditation and sound as a pathway to presence. She brings this embodied understanding into her teaching, creating a supportive and inspiring space where students can grow their musical understanding of this unique instrument.
Luisa sees herself as a bridge for those who have long been intrigued by the Handpan but unsure where to begin. In her workshops, she shares practical, easy-to-learn techniques that allow you to begin playing melodies and rhythms right away. She believes that everyone is musical, and that learning the Handpan is not only about playing an instrument, but about cultivating presence, sensitivity, and attunement—essential qualities for everyday life.

What is the workshop for?

All levels are welcome! Luisa invites anyone who has felt drawn to the sound of the handpan. She offers a simple and intuitive entry point into music-making—no prior experience needed.

For yoga and meditation teachers, the handpan offers an accessible way to deepen both personal practice and the spaces you hold for others. Its calming, melodic tones naturally support breath awareness, relaxation, and meditative states, allowing you to guide students beyond recorded music into a more present, responsive experience.

Luisa's classes are taught exclusively on high-quality Sew Handpans made in Italy.
